Where I can contribute
Growth strategy and execution
I help boards and management teams test whether growth plans are supported by customer, market, financial and operating evidence. My contribution is strongest when a company needs to translate strategic ambition into clearer priorities, ownership and execution.
Founder-led company professionalisation
Supporting or advising more than 3,000 businesses has given me broad exposure to recurring growth challenges, including founder dependency, unclear customer positioning, capability gaps, informal decision-making, weak investor readiness and difficulty building a repeatable operating rhythm.
I can provide an independent perspective while remaining practical about the realities of building and scaling a business.
Singapore market and ecosystem navigation
My experience spans an Enterprise Singapore-supported SME Centre, corporate innovation, startup acceleration, founder advisory work and Singapore’s investor and entrepreneurship ecosystem.
I can help companies understand how to engage more effectively with Singapore institutions, investors, accelerators, corporate partners and other stakeholders. This is particularly relevant to international B2B companies evaluating Singapore as a market, headquarters or base for regional expansion.
Innovation and AI adoption
At ING Labs, I personally developed and presented more than 20 innovation-opportunity assessments through recurring Innovation Committee stage gates. The work examined strategic fit, market demand, commercial viability, technical feasibility and legal or regulatory constraints.
Most of these opportunities were recommended as “learns”: they were stopped and archived rather than advanced. That experience reinforced the importance of testing assumptions early, preserving useful learning and declining to invest further when the evidence does not support it.
My AI contribution is centred on practical business adoption, use-case selection, workflow integration and responsible implementation. I do not position myself as a technical AI-governance, cybersecurity or regulatory specialist.
Selected board and governance experience
Epilepsy Care Group Singapore
I was elected to the organisation’s 32nd Executive Council in June 2026 and serve on its Communications Subcommittee.
Before joining the Council, I reviewed the organisation’s annual report and audited financial statements and raised questions concerning compliance matters, operating deficits, remediation priorities, expected outcomes and directors’ and officers’ insurance. The appointment provides current nonprofit governance experience, although it is distinct from a commercial company directorship.
Singapore Pakistani Association
I served for at least three terms as a Committee Member and acted as Secretary during the association’s 2021 election cycle.
My involvement included committee meetings, AGM financial discussions, cultural and philanthropic programme planning, preparation of election communications and support for an online AGM. The role provided sustained association-governance and stakeholder experience but did not involve the responsibilities of a commercial statutory director.
Board-facing executive judgement
As Team Lead and Acting Centre Director at SME Centre@SICCI, an Enterprise Singapore-supported centre, I led a 14-person SME advisory team and presented operating and performance information to the Centre’s board each month.
The operation had publicly reported annual expenditure of approximately S$1.5 million, with My responsibilities included management accounts, cash flow, budgets, payroll, vendor matters and audit matters.
At KPMG Business Foundry, where I held the position of Associate Director, I designed the operating model and curriculum for a six-month accelerator. I also challenged a proposed S$100,000 participant fee by assessing it against founder economics, market fit and the programme’s objectives. The ultimate pricing decision remained with KPMG’s leadership.
These experiences are management-side and board-facing rather than prior commercial NED service. They nevertheless demonstrate my ability to scrutinise information, raise difficult questions and connect strategy with operating reality.
Selected founder and venture advisory experience
Turtle Venture Studio — Advisory Board Member, March 2023 to March 2026
Under a formal three-year advisory-board agreement, I advised on growth, partnerships, fundraising, investment evaluation and portfolio support. I supported its Singapore launch and demo days and introduced the team to venture investors, accelerators and angel investors.
Homefectionery — Former Advisor and current minority shareholder
I advised the founder through approximately 15 discussions covering positioning, pricing, customer definition, operating plans, financials, investor materials and fundraising. I hold a 0.6% minority shareholding but am not a director and do not hold an active formal advisory appointment.

Appointments I am considering
I am interested in selected:
- Private-company Non-Executive Director appointments
- Board Observer roles
- Commercial Advisory Board appointments
- Governance roles with founder-led and scaling companies
- Appointments involving international businesses entering or expanding through Singapore
The strongest fit is likely to be a business that needs independent challenge and practical support across growth strategy, execution discipline, innovation decisions, partnerships or Singapore market development.
I am selective about appointments and look for situations where there is a clear fit between the company’s needs and the experience I can bring.
Discuss a board or advisory appointment
If you are considering an external director, Board Observer or Advisory Board appointment for a founder-led, scaling or internationally expanding business, I would be pleased to discuss the company’s priorities and the contribution you need.
